A one-day International Seminar titled "Values and Ethics in the 21st Century: An Educational and Philosophical Discourse" was organized on February 6, 2020, by the Departments of Education and Philosophy at Acharya Prafulla Chandra College, in collaboration with the Departments of Education and Philosophy of West Bengal State University. The seminar aimed to explore the significance of values and ethics in modern society and attracted 217 participants, including 85 paper presenters from various educational institutions.
The event was graced by dignitaries including Prof. Basab Chowdhury, Vice Chancellor of West Bengal State University, and featured keynote addresses by esteemed scholars such as Dr. Emili Puig Vilaro from the University of Girona and Dr. Asheesh Srivastava from Mahatma Gandhi Central University, among others. Through technical and parallel sessions, the seminar delved into topics ranging from traditional and modern values to the role of education in promoting ethical frameworks. The event concluded with a valedictory session led by Dr. Saktibrata Bhowmick, Principal of the college.

The webinar aimed to educate participants on the diverse perspectives within feminism, highlighting that feminism is not a monolithic movement but encompasses various ideologies, theories, and approaches. The event began with an introductory speech by Smt. Arpita Chaudhary from the Department of Philosophy, followed by a welcome address from Dr. Shakti Bhoumik, Principal of Acharya Prafulla Chandra College. Smt. Swarnali Mukhopadhyay introduced the first speaker, Dr. Alpana Borgohain, who provided an eloquent explanation of feminism and its various theories. Her discussion on feminist movements, ranging from liberal to Dalit feminism, was both thought-provoking and engaging. Dr. Borgohain emphasized the importance of understanding these theories to build a future society rooted in equality and justice. The second speaker, Dr. Aditi Dasgupta, addressed women's oppression and the need to challenge the patriarchal system for the sake of humanity. She offered an insightful analysis of neoliberalism's role in perpetuating patriarchy, highlighting societal challenges and proposing potential solutions.
