Experts highlighted how these cyclones adversely impacted local biodiversity, stressing the need for urgent conservation measures to protect the unique flora and fauna of the region. Discussions also addressed the challenges faced by local communities, including displacement, loss of livelihoods, and the extensive efforts required for rehabilitation. By examining both the environmental and human dimensions of these natural disasters, the webinar aimed to foster a comprehensive understanding of the multifaceted issues confronting the Sundarbans and its inhabitants. The event underscored the necessity for coordinated efforts to address these critical challenges.

The one-day seminar titled "Vision of Life" was held on March 26, 2022, in the Seminar Hall of Acharya Prafulla Chandra College, organized by the Department of Zoology. The event featured Suraj Ali, a distinguished professional trainer from Pune and recipient of the Best IAS Young Trainer Award, as the resource person. Attended by 33 participants, the seminar was designed to inspire and enlighten. Suraj Ali delivered an engaging lecture on the importance of having a clear vision for life and aligning personal goals with a higher purpose. He shared his own experiences and insights into leading a meaningful and fulfilling life. The talk highlighted the values of perseverance, hard work, and determination. The students were deeply motivated by Ali’s journey and accomplishments, gaining valuable perspectives on how to approach their own aspirations with focus and dedication.

The Awareness Camp cum Seminar on "Blood Cancer, Thalassemia, and Other Blood-Related Diseases and Stem Cell Transplantation: A New Hope" took place on September 13, 2022, at the Seminar Hall, Acharya Prafulla Chandra College. Organized by the Department of Zoology in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and the NSS Unit-II, the event aimed to educate the community about stem cell donation. The seminar featured expert speakers from DKMS BMST Foundation India, including Mr. Sayantan Datta Gupta, Resham Ghosh, and Nandini Sarkar. With approximately 100 participants, the seminar offered informative sessions and workshops that addressed the significance of stem cells in treating blood disorders and cancers. Discussions focused on dispelling myths, explaining the donation process, and highlighting the potential life-saving outcomes of stem cell transplantation. Attendees left with a comprehensive understanding of the critical role stem cell donation plays in medical treatments.

Organized by the Department of Zoology in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), the event featured prominent speakers, including Dr. Shubhadeep Roychoudhury from Assam University and Dr. Tanmoy Rudra from the International Academy of Science. With approximately 150 participants, the conference facilitated interdisciplinary discussions on climate challenges and sustainable development. Experts delivered insightful presentations on recent advancements in climate science, impacts on ecosystems, and strategies for mitigation and adaptation. Topics covered included renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, eco-friendly urban planning, and the role of technology in addressing climate change. The conference served as a valuable platform for knowledge sharing, collaboration, and exploring innovative solutions for a sustainable future.
