On August 21, 2019, the Department of Political Science at Acharya Prafulla Chandra College hosted a workshop on the Semester III Core Course in International Relations under the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS). The event aimed to provide college teachers from various colleges affiliated with West Bengal State University (WBSU) with essential training and resources. A total of 47 participants attended. The workshop began with an overview of the International Relations syllabus, focusing on integrating global political theories with practical applications. Discussions included innovative teaching methods, such as case studies, simulations, and interactive sessions, to better engage students. Resource-sharing sessions provided participants with teaching materials, reading lists, and multimedia tools. Expert lectures from experienced professors and practitioners were followed by interactive Q&A sessions. The workshop concluded with guidelines on creating effective assessments and incorporating continuous feedback, equipping educators with valuable insights to enhance their teaching of International Relations.

On June 27, 2020, the Department of Sanskrit and Political Science, in collaboration with IQAC, hosted a National Webinar titled "Preparation during a Worldwide Pandemic Crisis" via Google Meet, connecting participants from various locations. The event began with a welcoming address by Dr. Saktibrata Bhowmik, former Principal of the host institution. Dr. Mou Dasgupta, Professor of Sanskrit at Calcutta University, led the main discussion, offering profound insights from Vedic texts and original poetic transcriptions that captivated the online audience. Follow-up insights were provided by Dr. Sanchita Dasgupta of APC College and Prof. Madhulika Banerjee from Delhi University. Dr. Anindita Roy Saha, Associate Professor of Economics at IP College, Delhi, concluded with an analysis of the global economic impacts of the pandemic. Dr. Subhro Ghosal, IQAC Coordinator at APC College, wrapped up the event with a vote of thanks, making it a valuable reflection on pandemic challenges.

On August 13, 2020, the Department of Political Science at Acharya Prafulla Chandra College, in collaboration with Banipur Mahila Mahavidyalaya, organized an Online Faculty Orientation Workshop on the CBCS Political Science Syllabus for Semester V (DSE) for colleges affiliated with West Bengal State University (WBSU). The workshop took place from 11 AM to 12:30 PM IST via Google Meet, with 135 participants attending. The resource persons for the event were Sri Tapan Kumar Das, Associate Professor at Dum Dum Motijheel College and Member of the Board of Studies (BOS) at WBSU, and Dr. Molly Ghosh, Associate Professor at Barrackpore Rashtraguru Surendranath College and also a BOS member at WBSU. The workshop provided an in-depth overview of the topics included in the DSE papers for Semester V, along with discussion on the question patterns. The speakers also shared valuable study materials, which were highly beneficial to the participants.

The three departments of Acharya Prafulla Chandra College History Sanskrit and Political Science organized a webinar-Proshongo Jatiyotabad: kichu bhabna on 14.8 21. To celebrate India's 75th Independence Day the webinar focuses on the relevance of nationalism in today's world taking in its fold the ancient and historic perspective as well. Nationalism is what binds the emotion of a nation which is effective in developing a nation's own identity. The speakers Dr. Rita Chattopadhyay, Retd. Professor, Dept. of Sanskrit Jadavpur University, Dr. Sujata Mukherjee, Professor, Dept of History Rabindra Bharati University, Prof. Pradip Basu, Professor Dept of Political science, Presidency University discussed the concept from different perspectives and understanding which was attended by quite a large number of participants. The event was also streamed over YouTube generating over 785 views.

The Faculty Orientation Workshop on the CBCS Political Science Syllabus for Semester V (GEC) was held on August 29, 2020, via Zoom. Jointly organized by APC College and Netaji Satabarshiki Mahavidyalaya, the workshop aimed to acquaint faculty members from WBSU-affiliated colleges with the updated syllabus. Dr. Sudhanath Chattapadhyay, Principal of Netaji Satabarshiki Mahavidyalaya, delivered the welcome address, followed by an inaugural speech from Dr. Saktibrata Bhowmik, Principal of APC College. Sri Kingshuk Nandi from Taki Govt College provided key insights into the syllabus. Moderated by Dr. Sanchita Dasgupta and Sri Milinda Majumdar, the workshop featured lively discussions among the 134 participants, emphasizing academic depth and collaboration. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Smt. Anwesha Dasgupta, Assistant Professor at Netaji Satabarshiki Mahavidyalaya, reinforcing the importance of such initiatives in enhancing teaching standards under CBCS.

Democracy and Sovereignty in India: Changes in the New Millennium

On August 30, 2022, the Department of Political Science, in collaboration with the IQAC, organized a Special Lecture Programme at 1 PM in the college Seminar Hall. The guest speaker, Professor Samir Kumar Das from the University of Calcutta, was warmly welcomed by the then Principal, Dr. Saktibrata Bhowmick, and the faculty members. Professor Das, a distinguished scholar with experience as Vice-Chancellor of the University of North Bengal, delivered a solo lecture on "Democracy and Sovereignty in India: Changes in the New Millennium." His discussion centered on the theories of civil society by Alexis de Tocqueville and their relevance to Indian democracy. He critically examined the political challenges in India's northeast region and the central government's efforts to address them, exploring the interplay between democracy and sovereignty. The program, which continued until 4 PM, was attended by faculty members and students, who left with valuable insights into India's democratic and sovereign challenges.
